Then the time come for you to be your own man and take on the world. It was great just watching, every day was like a privilege. This kid is gonna be somebody better than anybody ever knew." And you grew up good and wonderful. ![]() I'd hold you up and say to your mother: "This kid is gonna be the best kid in the world. are making you out to be a joke and that I'll be included in that? Do you think that’s right? Do you? ROCKY: You ain't gonna believe this, but you used to fit right here. Don’t you care what people think? Doesn’t it bother you that people. ROBERT: I know that's not what you wanna do, but that's just the way that it is. ROCKY: That's the last thing I ever wanted to do. Then finally the big day comes! He is going to box the undefeated champion.ROBERT: Yeah. So he trained extremely hard everyday and night. He thought it through and realized he wanted to show people no matter how old you are you can do anything you set your mind to do. The results came out to be that rocky lost, but people encouraged him to take a risk and really fight him. The news of this comes out and a local sports news channel comes out with a analysis of a new young fighter verses Rocky. But after Rocky leaves when he gives his speech the commission chair rethinks their answer and decides to give him his boxing license. He is told no after he has worked so hard to get to this stage. ''I mean maybe some of you guys got something you never finished, something you really wanna do, Something you never said to somebody-somethin!'' Rocky uses the word something to emphasize that there is something you have always wanted to do but couldn't or didn't, but now someone has the chance and you are telling them no. If you're willing to fight for what you stand for then no one can stand in your way. ![]() He goes on to say ''Cause if you're willing to go through all the battling you gotta go through to get where you wanna get-Who's got the right to stop you?'' Meaning no one has the right to tell you that you cant be who you want to be and live out your dream. He doesn't understand why they would say he passed but they wont give him a license. ''I mean you think thats right? I mean you're doing your job, but why you gotta stop me from doing mine?'' This is a rhetorical question, Rocky is furious that he spent all this time taking test trying to prove himself worthy only to be rejected. The chairpersons said he passed them with flying colors, but they denied his application. He goes to the commission chair to persuade them into giving him his boxing license. She makes his life worth living again and he gets the urge to fight again, just some small local places, nothing to extravagant. He invites her to work at the restraunt because she really doesn't have much and needs a job. He meets someone and she makes him so much happier. Rocky owns a little restraunt and lets fighters and people who are poor eat for free, so you can tell he is a wonderful, kind hearted person. The only person he really has in life is his wife's brother, which he is old and senile, so he's left alone. This hurts Rocky and after loosing his wife, just to know his own son wants nothing to do with him, is heart breaking. ![]() His own son blows him off because he feels he only gets anywhere in life because his dad is a famous boxer. Rocky Balboa is a retired boxer thats is lonely and emotionally depressed.
